The Hill Country has the best biking in Texas and is an ideal location for early season riding. Fredericksburg is a great place for a fixed base ride as it has a good selection of high quality restaurants and points of interest, especially the Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War.

This was a great ride. A large variety of route choices provided wonderful options for riders of all levels. Plenty of things to see and do in Fredericksburg all close to our hotel. I highly recommend this ride, you will not be disappointed

Fredericksburg is a great place for Spring fixed-base ride. There were many routes to choose from with a variety of distances and directions to ride. The town of Fredericksburg has good museums, shopping, and restaurants and everything is walkable. So if the weather does not cooperate there is still plenty to do. It is very easy to get out in the country quickly from town and the area is very scenic with lots of farms and wineries. There are two bike shops in town, and the one we visited (Hill Country Bicycle Works) was really helpful as well as had great rental bikes if you don't want to fly or drive your bike. I'd recommend this ride for anyone who wants to get in some Spring training miles and who enjoys riding quiet country roads.

Great great ride! Excellent group and routes. Plenty of routes to choose from which offered excellent variety and choices. The accommodations were spacious, well-located, and had great amenities (pools, hot tub, breakfast space, comfortable lobby, etc)! Fredericksburg was a fun and interesting town with friendly people. I’d highly recommend this ride continue to be offered!

About People Cycling

People Cycling is a bicycle touring club, which you can join for free. We offer Domestic and International Cycling Tours which are led by volunteer Ride Leaders. Our tours are made up of a small group of participants (typically 15-20 or so) who want to ride an average of 30 to 55 miles a day over a one or two week period in interesting regions of the world. Our tours range in price from frugal getaways to luxurious adventures. We travel road, gravel, or mountain bike styles, and all bicycle types – including e-bikes, recumbents, and tandems are typically allowed.

Our ride leaders are volunteers and do not financially profit on tours they lead. They are also given broad discretion on how to lead their tours, and we consider them our greatest asset.

People Cycling tours are operated at cost or at lower cost (as negotiated by our ride leaders) than individuals can obtain on commercial tours. Within the cost of a tour, there is a nominal fee to support club operations and provide tools to ride leaders to manage their rides.
