We rode our tandem bicycle on the Heart of Oho ride (Cincinnati to Cleveland - we actually started in Newport, Kentucky) with Troy Wilson as our ride leader. Troy did a fantastic job shepherding all of us and did well with managing many riders with differing skill levels and riding experiences. Each night featured a social hour so we could chat with the other riders and gather information from Troy about the ride for the next day. Troy made sure luggage was transported timely to the next city/hotel. We had a great group dinner the night before the ride commenced and the night before returning to Cincinnati. The shuttle of people, bikes, and luggage back to Cincinnati worked well and we arrived back in time to get a decent start on our return home. Each day featured different experiences. We truly enjoyed the ride and delighted in the way that each day offered different scenery, riding conditions, and challenges. We would definitely look into doing another ride with People Cycling and especially one hosted by Troy.

Everything about this ride surpassed my expectations. The routes were excellent including the notes and maps. Troy and Kris were amazing grouip leaders. Troy was always updating us on route detours/changes and options for stops along the way. Their dispostion, professionalism, and knowledge were fabulous. It was a bonus to have access to making a pj&j sandwich everynight to accompany whatever food we purchased on our stops. The hotels were all really nice, again exceeding my expecdtations - even the hotel that Troy wanred us about aheadof time was better than expected. I am so glad to have found People Cycling!

Our ride leaders Troy and Kris were fantastic! As well as Marty who handled the luggage van. Organized, good communication, friendly, considerate. Accommodations were great. Route was interesting and pretty. Do this trip if you have a chance!

This ride was a lot of fun. We had a great group of people and tour leaders Troy and Kris and van driver Marty did an excellent job. We spent time at home before the trip started scoping out the area for potential stops along the rides each day. The route was mostly along paved rail trail through forests. Some sections were along rolling farm roads where drivers were all very respectful of us bikes. Most of the hotels included breakfast, which really simplified our mornings. I'd recommend this ride to someone looking for a fairly flat, relatively easy route.

Ride leaders Troy and Kris were very organized and friendly. Marty driving the van was always on time and helpful. Happy hours every night were great. Fellow riders were very friendly and very inclusive of everybody on the ride. The overall route was scenic, and the daily routes provided were easy to follow. Visited some nice and unique coffee shops, cafes and restaurants along the way. Overall, a very enjoyable biking experience.

Excellent organization/leadership and beautiful trail.

This was a wonderful ride, good leadership. The only thing I might change is to combine two of the shorter days into one and make the trip one day shorter.

Any time you can go on a tour with ride leaders Troy and Chris Wilson, you should go! Planning and execution of the tour was excellent. The trails across Ohio were beautiful and mostly shaded with plenty to see, including peregrine falcons! There are also lots of site seeing opportunities in all the towns and cities we stayed in. I highly recommend this tour.

Great trip. The trail is fantastic. Virtually all off road and mostly pavement. Tree covered canopy. Troy & Kris were very accommodating. Communication before and during the trip were very good. The nightly happy hours were an unexpected surprise and helped to create a friendly atmosphere among riders.

This was one of my favorite group tours. The leaders were attentive to details, competent, and thoughtful. The group meshed from the beginning, and a good time was had by all. The route was scenic, though could have been mapped better in a couple of places. But the lowkey nature of the setup was perfect for what we wanted to do after a very busy travel year last year. The hotels were great, and being able to spend some time in several cities along the way added to the experience.

About People Cycling

People Cycling is a bicycle touring club, which you can join for free. We offer Domestic and International Cycling Tours which are led by volunteer Ride Leaders. Our tours are made up of a small group of participants (typically 15-20 or so) who want to ride an average of 30 to 55 miles a day over a one or two week period in interesting regions of the world. Our tours range in price from frugal getaways to luxurious adventures. We travel road, gravel, or mountain bike styles, and all bicycle types – including e-bikes, recumbents, and tandems are typically allowed.

Our ride leaders are volunteers and do not financially profit on tours they lead. They are also given broad discretion on how to lead their tours, and we consider them our greatest asset.

People Cycling tours are operated at cost or at lower cost (as negotiated by our ride leaders) than individuals can obtain on commercial tours. Within the cost of a tour, there is a nominal fee to support club operations and provide tools to ride leaders to manage their rides.
