This was an incredible trip! Less of an emphasis on riding (total 127m and ~4,000'), but as we all know, the bike was our entrance to see the non-tourist portion of the country. Cuba is fascinating and fraught with political, economic, and cultural complexities that are mind blowing to me. This trip was expertly guided locally to maximize exposure to Cuban culture and history, whether it be the Museum of Modern Art, Buena Vista Social Club, a Cuban baseball game, or the world's smallest hummingbird. Thx to rise leader Greg Corwin, Cuba Unbound, local guide Ramon Vasquez & crew, People Cycling, and a fun, energetic group of fellow riders. I can't recommend a trip like this more for an introduction to a faraway land that is our next door neighbor.

Great tour! Very educational and the guides kept us safe. Cycling the local towns and the villages made me appreciate our own country. I learned a lot about Cuba and the struggles it has moving forward. I did enjoy the architecture and the people of Cuba. Our tour group bonded very quickly and we stayed close throughout the trip. However, having had this experience, I don’t feel the need to go back to Cuba in the future.

A wonderful itinerary! Rental bikes were nice and well maintained. Support and accommodations were very good. Lots of Cuban culture and information from our local guide. People Cycling leaders were great and the group was very cohesive and fun to be with!

Very well run tour. Nice Trek hybrid bicycles. Accomodations were sometimes less then ideal with the electric blackouts. Cuban people need so much that it is difficult to observe when we have so much in America. Road surfaces were full of potholes but car traffic was very light.

I really enjoyed my experience in Cuba because of the great leadership from Greg and our cuban guide Ramon. They worked together to make our trip a fantastic memory. Starting at night with a recap of the day and an itinerary for the next day they both listened to our needs and were very accommodating to what we needed and wanted. The sag driver also was there to assist with all riders who needed help and filling our water bottles because they emptied quickly in the heat . The B&B's we stayed in were lovely clean and had great hostesses that also met our needs. We saw a great deal of Cuba and learned a lot about the people and the history of the country. Loved my experience.

It was a cultural experience not to be missed, well organized & the pensions we stayed at were lovely; our bicycles were quite nice too! The trip was heartwarming and humbling for sure and our guide Ramone was outstanding, a good historian, knowledgeable and a wonderful sense of humor. Rinaldo & Ariel were also amazing. If I were to give criticism it would be there was too much food and I would prefer to spend half day in Havana so instead of rolling into Havana on Thursday afternoon my preference would have been getting there sometime Friday. Of course, I no longer enjoy being in big cities, so that is completely subjective on my part. This was a trip of a lifetime, I have wanted to visit Cuba for a long time now and although I had no expectations on what it would actually be like, it was indeed eye opening and wonderful in its own way. We here in America have so much to be grateful for. I met such lovely people from this group & Greg & Vicki did a fantastic job organizing this incredible trip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

About People Cycling

People Cycling is a bicycle touring club, which you can join for free. We offer Domestic and International Cycling Tours which are led by volunteer Ride Leaders. Our tours are made up of a small group of participants (typically 15-20 or so) who want to ride an average of 30 to 55 miles a day over a one or two week period in interesting regions of the world. Our tours range in price from frugal getaways to luxurious adventures. We travel road, gravel, or mountain bike styles, and all bicycle types – including e-bikes, recumbents, and tandems are typically allowed.

Our ride leaders are volunteers and do not financially profit on tours they lead. They are also given broad discretion on how to lead their tours, and we consider them our greatest asset.

People Cycling tours are operated at cost or at lower cost (as negotiated by our ride leaders) than individuals can obtain on commercial tours. Within the cost of a tour, there is a nominal fee to support club operations and provide tools to ride leaders to manage their rides.
