Our fully supported cycling journey takes in the wonderful array of cultural and natural attractions of Kanazawa, the unique Noto Peninsula and the magnificent Japanese Alps on the west coast of Japan’s main central island, Honshu. This is a region of Japan full of endlessly varied landscapes and steeped in fascinating history.
The ancient city of Kanazawa with its imposing Kenroku-en, a castle garden dating from the 17th century, rivals Kyoto as the historical jewel of mainland Japan and boasts beautifully preserved samurai and geisha districts, attractive temples, a wealth of museums and a wonderful market (and far fewer tourists than Kyoto). Heading north, we ride to the remote Noto Peninsula, which offers a coastline of impressive seascapes and beautiful, rugged scenery along its craggy western coast and an eastern coast of calmer shore and stunning views of the distant Nagano alpine peaks.
